Patrols
What do I do as a Lifesaver?
Each surf life saving club operates patrols on their beach and surrounding area on weekends and public holidays from mid-october.
Patrols are there to help ensure the safety of beachgoers both in and around the water. They will respond to people in distress in the water and any first aid incidents on and around the beach. Depending on your qualifications you may respond to different situations.
As a patrolling member you will be rostered to a patrol team which is assigned approximately six days across the season. Each patrol will have a patrol captain who is responsible for managing the patrol and coordinating any response required. Your patrol captain will assign tasks throughout the day such as walking/ driving along the beach north or south.
