Juniors Henley offers 'Nippers' for children aged between 7 and 14. They train every Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm from November to March. The aim is to gain confidence in the water, learn surf life saving skills, and have fun. Members from age 8 upwards are entitled to enter regular carnivals and state championships. From age 13 upwards, members can start gaining awards in basic lifesaving and resuscitation skills. Turn up at 2pm any Saturday afternoon and try it out with no obligation to join. Note: All Nippers are required to complete a preliminary float and swim. These requirements are shown on page 8 of the club handbook (see the menu link). Parents, be warned! Bringing your child to Nippers may improve your social life, and cause you to spend more time than your conscience can bear at the beach with a group of nice people. But hey, it's good for your child, so it's just one of those things you have to do as a parent. To be updated Photos |
