What
is The Big Row?
The
Henley SLSC is in desperate need of new clubrooms, and have created The
Big Row as our own unique major fund raising event with all
funds raised going
toward the new building.
Our
members will row a surf boat across the Gulf St Vincent, from Stansbury to Henley Beach
covering around 68kms of open sea.
This
event started in 2007 and we will run this annually.
Why
should my company get involved?
- To help raise
much needed funds for Henley SLSC
- Positive public
relations opportunities, through assisting an iconic organisation
- Enjoy widespread
media coverage of this event in local papers, television and radio
- Help keep beaches
safe this summer
- You will be
supporting a vital community service
- Financial Support

Henley
Surf
Life Saving Club Inc.
The
Henley SLSC has the proud record of being the State’s first Surf Life Saving Club having been established in
1925. Run solely by volunteers, the Henley SLSC is now in it’s 83rd year of serving the Community by providing a
safe beach environment.
We
would like to ensure our history is preserved and that the essential services performed by our lifesaving
volunteers over the past 80 years or so be maintained at Henley Beach.
We
hope to create a modern, attractive building to be proud of, that will incorporate ‘green’ initiatives such as
underground rainwater storage, solar power and efficient storage systems and dedicated training
areas.
Why we
need your help
The
Henley SLSC is an entirely voluntary not-for-profit organisation.
In
addition to fund raising for the new building, our volunteers must raise around $40,000 per annum to provide our
patrols on the beach. There is no government funding for this service.
All
these funds are raised by our members or from our generous sponsors and supporters.
Any
form of support (including “in Kind” ) is greatly appreciated.
